Docc Hilford has devised a simple yet highly effective system that can be applied to any borrowed deck of cards in minutes, making the free selection of any card or pair of cards instantly known! Here are just a few of the effects possible:
Two cards and a word are chosen by three spectators. You hypnotize a woman who reveals the names of the cards and the chosen word!
You write three different predictions, each with a spectator's initials on them. The spectators freely select cards and your predictions match the selections!
A spectator secretly chooses two coins from his pocket. Another freely chooses two cards. The values of the coins and cards are added together. You know the total, the values of the coins, the names of both cards and even the date on one of the coins!
This system took years to develop along with the audience-tested routines. Now you can perform miracles without sleight-of-hand or memory techniques.
A business card or playing card shoots out of a wallet, spins, and hovers up to your hand like magic!
Good opening effects are hard to find-even more so when they're self-working and leave an examinable deck. The devious method behind Gordon's Joker Joker will bring a smile to your lips, and its direct, inexplicable effect will produce gasps from your audience.
You start by saying you must first remove the Jokers from the deck. After taking out the first one, you decide to let a spectator find the other, with the cards face down.
Despite having multiple chances to stop or move on, and without a single false move on your part, the spectator stops on a card. It's turned over, and it's the second Joker! No other Jokers are in the deck and the pack may be examined!
Also Includes...The Los Angeles Open-perhaps the most baffling version of the Open Prediction ever released. After a card has been announced as a prediction, and with the deck in her own hands, a spectator deals cards face up until she wishes to stop. At this point, she deals a card face down, then deals the rest of the cards face up. The openly predicted card doesn't show up, and the spectator herself spreads the deck to see the only card she left face down was the performer's prediction!
Comes complete with 8-page, fully photo-illustrated instructions and the necessary cards specially printed by the U.S. Playing Card Co.
Back in 1995, Gordon Bean released The Limited Edition in conjunction with Larry Jennings. Spurred by a prime-time performance by Harry Anderson, it quickly became a best-seller. Eugene Burger and Br. John Hamman were among those who worked out their own versions, and the effect went on to become a modern classic: After the spectator thinks of one card among six, that card alone goes blank!
Noticing that occasionally some spectators would ask if he could bring their card back, Gordon went work on a new version to make this possible. Until now a closely guarded secret, the end result is nothing less than a miracle: A spectator thinks of one card among six, and is asked to mentally tear a corner off the card, then make the rest of her mind blank. Without the selection being revealed, the cards are spread face down, and one card is seen to be missing its corner! When the faces are shown, the spectator confirms that the card missing its corner is what remains of her card. For the climax, the spectator mentally sends the torn corner back to the box, where it makes a magical appearance!
Still completely self-working, The New Limited Edition contains the original cards and routine, along with the extra cards necessary for the new climax. All of the cards were specially printed by the U.S. Playing Card Co. on Bicycle stock and no refills are needed. Also included is a card for another addition to the original effect: Before going blank, the back of the mental selection starts to visually fade away! The new instructions also include Eugene Burger's description of his routine for the original Limited Edition, as well as ideas from Max Maven for both the original and new versions of the effect.
Comes complete with all the necessary cards on Bicycle stock and 10-page, fully-illustrated instructions.
Of the hundreds of people on whom Gordon Bean field-tested his new effect, Temptation, a particularly notable spectator was one Greg Simko, C.E.O. of the U.S. Playing Card Co. One evening, Mr. Simko was at The Magic Castle to discuss a custom deck being made for the film Shade, and when asked to perform an effect for him, Gordon brought out the Ace, Two and Three of Spades.
The routine's first phase sent the Three visibly from Gordon's right hand to his left hand, and Mr. Simko smiled. He had seen a lot of amazing sleight-of-hand and assumed this was more of the same. Next, the Ace jumped the other way, and Mr. Simko leaned forward. Finally, the Two jumped down to his own hand and Mr. Simko knew the only possible explanation. "You're using some of those special cards we printed for you." Gordon smiled and motioned for him to pick up the cards. Mr. Simko examined them with an expert's precision. "But they are ordinary Bicycles," said Mr. Simko. "The finest cards made," agreed Gordon with a smile. I wouldn't use anything else."

Cards May Be Examined
"Temptation is the perfect walk-around version of Three-Card Monte. Since all the cards are examinable at the end, it is a practical as well as a mind-blowing effect." -Whit Haydn
