This is a classic mental effect where three spectators each write down a number and a fourth spectator makes the addition. this sum matches your prediction. So far so good.
We have created a NOTE BOOK in fine calf leather. Inside is a pad of Post It pappers (3 x 5 inches). At the opening side of the note book is a holder for the pen. When the pen is in place it also locks the note book.
< Now to the handling. Ask three spectators to write any number between 1 and 1000. When the last spectator is ready, he puts the pen in plac and throws the book to any person in the audience. He or she opens the note book and makes the addition. IT MATCHES YOUR PREDICTION!!
What really happens is that the note book has built in magnets that automatically switch the side of the Post It pad when the last person opens the book. It is safe and easy to do. thanks to the pen there is no risk it will open when they throw it.And remember you never touch the note book after the third person has written his number!

Magic Card Pad. A spectator has a free choice of a card from a shuffled deck. He signs the card and puts it back into the deck. Now you take an ordinary note pad and explain that you will try to draw a picture of his card. The spectator is holding the deck and is asked to concentrate on the card.
With a Magic Marker you draw a card on the pad, let's say the Three of Spades. "Wrong", answers the spectator. "Wait a minute" - this is not your card. It's the bottom card in the deck. "Look for yourself!". He looks at the bottom card. It is the Three of "Your card is somewhere in the deck, so I will draw the whole deck", you continue. Finish the drawing and show a complete deck. You now ask the spectator to concentrate on his card. Slowly a real card rises out of the drawn deck on the pad!
The card has its back towards the audience. "You concentrate too hard. The card has turned over." For the first time you ask the spectator to name his card. "The Ace of Diamonds", he answers.
Slowly you turn the card around to face the audience. It's the ace of diamonds, with his signature on it!!
Give him the card as a souvenir, close the pad and take a bow.
EXTRA BONUS:
If you prefer, A DRAWN CARD with the same value as the chosen rises from the deck. In this case you may tear off the page and give the drawing to the spectator as a souvenir instead.

Ask any leading performer about rule number one in mentalism and he will answer: Mental magic must be direct and stright to the point. Otherways the audience will lose interest in your performance.
If you agree, then MAGIC SIGNS is for you. You show five elegant chips made of brass. Each chip is blank on one side and has one of the well known Rhine symbols on the other side: Circle, Cross, Wavy lines, Square and Star.
- Before you even think of any of the symbols I will try to predict which one you are going to chose in your mind. First I am going to mix them up and then mark one on the back.
With great secrecy you take a marker and make a sign, your initials or anything else, on the back of one of the chips. Then you mix again and place them face up on the table.
The spectator is told to think of the one symbol only. After the choice he or she is to tell everybody which symbol it is.
Let’s assume that the spectator thinks of the Star. You immediately place the chip with the Star face up in his hand.
”Don’t look at the back yet”, you expalin and start turning the other four chips over, one by one.
As it turns out, no one has any sign on it’s back. Now you ask the spectator to turn his thought of chip over. IT HAS YOUR INITIALS, OR WHATEVER YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO DRAW, ON THE BACK OF THE CHIP!!!
The brass chips are of highest quality; the secret is ingenious. The fine craftman- ship and the material is quite expensive. On the other hand, for the discriminating performer, MAGIC SIGNS may very well be invaluable.
Ring In Salt is a classic effect! This is a close-up effect which creates sensation everywhere. Show a piece of rope and let a spectator thread his finger ring on the rope. Close your hand around the ring and rope. The spectator ties the ends of the rope together to make it impossible for the ring to come off. Give the spectator a salt shaker and ask him to pour a little "magic salt" on your closed hand. He holds his other hand under yours to catch the ring, when it is released, open your hand, and the ring is gone! The spectator, still holding the salt shaker, is asked to unscrew the cap and pour out the salt. HE FINDS HIS RING IN THE SALT!! A fantastic effect! The ring is not switched and it is the same ring which was thread on the rope just a moment before! Complete with precision made apparatus, rope and routine.

You now have a spectator join you on the stage and draw their attention to the dog that has been sitting at the other side of the stage and especially the collar that he or she is wearing. After more than two years of planning and prototypes we have finally cracked it with the ultimate one-man version of Andy Nyman's classic effect.
For those of you not familiar with the Dead Zone plot here is what the audience sees:
A spectator is invited to the stage to help test your abilities in the new defence technique known as "Dead Zoning" and after explaining that it is a combination of heightened body language reading, plus the ability to imagine a 'Dead Zone' on the person you are looking at - in essence it allows you to know whether someone poses a threat to you just by looking at them. The technique is now taught to bodyguards, secret service agents and airport security personnel.
At this point you explain that you imagine the "Dead Zone" as a target and then proceed to stick a picture of a target onto the spectator then ask him to imagine that he is an assassin and draw his attention to the case on the table. You explain that it contains a selection of weapons that may be used by an assassin and ask him to open the case and take a look inside.
You turn your back to the spectator & instruct the spectator to place each of the weapons into his pockets. Once done, you turn to face him and ask him to walk away from you. After a couple of steps you stop him and by staring at the 'Dead Zone' you CORRECTLY reveal which weapons are in which pocket!
As the applause fades you explain that sometimes if you really tune into the 'Dead Zone' you can know what is going to happen before the thoughts even enter the other persons head. You ask him to remove the 'Dead Zone' target that you stuck on him & open it up. It is a prediction that correctly states which of the weapons he would place in which pockets with perfect, 100% accuracy every time!
