There are some major changes going on with Alakazam wholesale.  Alakazam Magic are no longer exclusive with any distributor.  Which means you can purchase our items from your favourite distributor (just call them to check they have it in stock) or set up a wholesale account with Alakazam Direct!

What changes are we making and how will it help you?

One thing that has really bothered us recently is the fact that as dealers we are asked to pre-sell items without having any idea when they will be coming in to stock.  At Alakazam we do encourage you to pre-sell our products but we will give you an official release date which 99% of the time we will be able to stick to (unless there is a major spanner in the works)

All our products come with great packaging, DVD Instructions and we are implementing QR codes on the back of our boxes.

What is a QR code?

Well if your customer has a free QR reader on their smart phone they can scan the back of the box and watch the trailer!!  The QR code is pure genius and will defiantly help your in store sales!

What was your involvement with IMPOSSIBLE?

I involvement with Impossible was to be part of the Consulting team. The team consisted of Philip Escoffey, Phil Smith & Myself

How did you get involved with the project?

I remember being on holiday with my family when I got a call from Philip Escoffey who said he had something to chat to me about when I got back to the UK. As soon as I arrived back I was called to a meeting at the Impossible production company. Before I really knew what had happen I was part of the Team. To be fair it took me a few days to really understand the concept and my job role. Unlike the standard consultancy job I would usually be involved in. This position had a second part which was to make the impossible challenges Just That, Impossible!

Briefly describe what the show is about?

Impossible is a brand new format. It’s a magic game show and you know what It Works!!! Each week we have two contestants. Philip will claim he can do something impossible (not going to tell you too much because it will spoil the surprise) the contestants job is to decide whether or not they believe Philip can actually pull off his miraculous claim.

How do you know Philip Escoffey and what can you tell us about him?

I have known Philip for many years and class him as a good friend. Philip has been one of the UK’s busiest mentalists for quite a few years. Performing as The Grey Man he has entertain at corporate functions all over the world. I think a big turning for Philip was his first run at the Edinburgh Festival. Philip performed a show called Six Impossible Things Before Dinner. He took the show to Australia to perform at a festival and before long performed the Show at the Sydney Opera house. His show ran for 2 weeks and was a complete sell out. Now he has his own TV series, what more can I say. THE LUCKY LITTLE SO AND SO J

What was the biggest challenge in coming up with / shooting the effects for IMPOSSIBLE?

The biggest challenges we’re coming up with what I call TV magic but they had to play live. Because it’s a game show and there is money riding on it we did not have the privilege of multiple shoots or takes. So everything you see on screen was performed live.

What is your favourite effect from the series?

WOW now you’re asking. There are so many things in the show I’m proud of whether it is the premise of one of our challenges or the method. As a team I honestly believe we came up with some great effects and some even better methods. It really was an experience working on the show. We had some real fun times.

Without giving too much away, what can we look forward to in IMPOSSIBLE?

I think many magicians and lay people will enjoy the show. It’s fun and the magic is good. The thing I love about Impossible is you can play along at home and believe me you will. As a magician you will have the edge but there are a few red herrings thrown in for our magical friends J

Closing thoughts – why is this different from other magic show on television?

Impossible is a brand new format for a show and I’m glad to say it works! The magic is strong the show is fun. I really hope you all enjoy it.
