Love this. The trick does need a little practice to give confidence in the use of the gimmick but once you are comfortable you have a great trick. The gimmick has never been spotted by any of my spectators.
This is a great packet trick. HOWEVER just because it is almost self working DOES NOT mean that you do not have to put the practice in!! If the trick is performed with lack of practice and confidence then the gimmick becomes 'hot' to the spectator. Trust me, get the routine nailed like how Dave performs in the newer video above and you will have folks flipping their lids! Fantastic once again :-)
very nice gimmic. the only thing that make me not giving 5 stars is that the gimmick card is not examinable. also i want to say that the shiping ( to israel ) was very fast ( free shipping), and my emails about some troubles with streaming video were handeled immediatelly. im very pleased.
Received this today in the post. At first I wasn't sure about the gimmick being seen, it's a very faint line, and if you kept the cards in motion it would go unnoticed. I'll stick with it. The basic move takes a few mins to get down. It'll take me a while to get the routine going as it takes me a while to get to grips with routines in general. I've had the Skinner three card monte before and was looking for a change anyway. Instead of the three card monte, I was going to call it the Irish monte as it uses 4 cards instead of the normal 3. It's worth a look if you haven't seen it before. Sound quality on the DVD is a bit dodgy like people have mentioned before. Just turn up your volume and it's not an issue. Surprised this wasn't a streaming video by now? Worth a look. Steven Holt
This is, by far, my favourite 3 card monte routine! It's incredibly easy to do, only one easy sleight to learn (plus a few others, depending on the routine that you do), and what I really like is how you can, essentially, make it up as you go along, you don't need to follow a strict sequence of moves, so you can make it fit your style depending on the scenario. Even if your not a fan of the '3 card monte' plot, you should still pick this up, it will a) possibly give you ideas for other effects, and b) make you like the '3 card monte' plot! And I like how with some routines, everything is examinable. Highly recommended!
I fail to see how the cards can be shown as seen on the demo video. The gimmick is just too obvious.
I got the gimmick Saturday (Guarantee Jokers) and shown several people the trick. It really knocked my confidence going forward as everybody I've shown using various methods handling the gimmick has spotted the gimmick. Really disappointed. I originally had this sent instead of Sanders ACE. I wish I hadn't of bothered.
I just got this, and I think it's brilliant. Easy to learn and do and very visual. I can honestly say this it one of the best tricks I've brought.
Alakazam have done it again! What a beautiful yet simple bit of magic. Rob Bromley's expertly crafted gimmick is of top quality, as it always is and the routines devised by both Peter and Dave are brilliant. The simplicity of this is what makes it a winner and this is definitely going to feature my repitoire in the future. Thank you Alakazam!
I have been playing with this for a while now and love the ease of handling that the gimmick allows.
Simplex Monte is one of those tricks that as soon as you do it once you fall in love with it. Rob Bromley 's gimmick construction is flawless and the handlings Peter and Dave came up with makes this a winner. I've already put it in my professional repertoire and it plays great! I couldn't recommend it more. Love it!Write Review
